This year’s Japan Matsuri was bigger and better! It’s a celebration of Japanese culture, with a large selection of stalls with a variety of Japanese products and clothes, food and drinks to arts and crafts. The whole market was used this year, decorated with hanging lanterns and ribbons around the place.
Jan Kaplický – Eye over Prague

We managed to get tickets to the international premiere of a documentary dedicated to the late Czech architect Jan Kaplický, co-founder of London based practice Future Systems. It tells the story of Kaplický’s last grand design, the project for the National Library in Prague called “the Eye over Prague”.

Today some friends and I went to Spitalfields Market for the London Okinawa day. I attended the same event last year, where there were plenty of stalls selling Japanese food and merchandise.

This Friday my wife and I went to a gig from Czech folk singer Jaromir Nohavica at the Southbank centre.
England vs Mexico at Wembley

Had another opportunity to go see England play at Wembley stadium today with my work colleagues. This was an international friendly match against Mexico and a chance to experiment with a selection of players ahead of the World Cup in June.
1001 Inventions

Today I was at the London Science Museum to see the “1001 inventions” exhibition. This was a collection of inventions in various sciences, including chemistry, medicine, architecture, and geography, made by Muslims in the past which had a huge impact on the modern world.
